STN focuses on training local pastors, evangelists and church planters so that they can reach their own villages and regions with the gospel.
Pastors come from their rural villages in Latin America and East Asia to be trained regionally in their own languages.
Experienced Bible teachers provide in-depth Bible training for pastors who cannot otherwise receive this kind of training.
Some of our program graduates will be further equipped to train new church planters in their regions.For many years, God placed the burden of worldwide missions and the call to train up leaders on the hearts of two individuals who lived half a world apart. Pastor Ryder Kumar spent 30 years shepherding the flock in India while Pastor Paul Brown was shepherding his own flock in the Los Angeles area. God brought these two pastors together in 2001 when Paul invited Ryder to plant a church for the local ethnic Asians at Shepherd’s Community Church (SCC).
2004
Through Ryder’s experience-oriented leadership and key contacts in India, these two pastors traveled together to India for the first time in 2004 to lead Bible conferences to train Indian pastors.

Through much prayer and the support of the local church, a second mission trip to India and Nepal in 2005 enabled more church leaders to go and experience the fruit of this vision.
2007
In June of 2007 the elders at Shepherd's Community Church (now The Bridge Bible Fellowship) approved the formation of a new missions organization known as “Shepherding the Nations.”

Our Bible teachers traveled to India several times a year and taught through the 10-book Biblical Training Centre for Pastors curriculum.

Ryder Kumar is serving as our International Director. As one of the founding members of Shepherding the Nations, it was Ryder's vision to see pastors trained and equipped for ministry that became the foundation of Shepherding the Nations.
Shepherding the Nations has identified qualified and called men who are already working in unreached areas of India and Nepal. We are providing the training to better equip them and the financial resources to support them in their ministries.
Our directors have been equipped to teach our ten-volume training curriculum. These key men are training indigenous pastors and church planters while also providing accountability, resources materials, and support.
During our training program, we provide our ten volume set of curriculum from the Biblical Training Centre for Pastors (BTCP) in their local language. We also provide essentials resources such as Bible Concordance and Study Bible. We have been able to provide these books to all of our pastors through the generous donations of our donors.
