About Shepherding the Nations

We're passionate about one thing... reaching the world for Christ!

"And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 'Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'" Matthew 28:18–20 (NASB95)

Our Mission

To glorify God by training and resourcing indigenous pastors to plant healthy churches in unreached areas.

Where We Work

We are actively teaching pastors, church planters, and church leaders throughout Southeast Asia and Latin America. As the ministry continues to grow, we are expanding into additional countries while also increasing our reach into more cities and villages within the nations where we already serve. At the same time, we are exploring opportunities to begin teaching pastors in new countries as God opens doors for ministry.

Our Curriculum

Most of you who have been following STN know that we have undertaken a challenge - to teach and equip Christian leaders on two continents. The BTCP (Bible Training Centre for Pastors) courses and materials have provided us with excellent tools that are helping us to accomplish this goal.

All of this teaching occurs while many are in the midst of pastoring their own churches.

The BTCP courses are excellent and offer a complete Bible curriculum in their local language, at an affordable price ($10 per course). Without BTCP, it would be much more challenging to provide this kind of teaching to these godly men who are in such great need. And even though many are lacking an educational background, these challenging materials are greatly assisting them in becoming more effective as pastors, church planters and ministry leaders who are empowered by and useful to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Biblical Training Centre for Pastors (BTCP)

Our goal is to complete the 10-book BTCP program in 2 - 3 years. The program includes the following courses:

  1. Bible Study Methods and Rules of Interpretation
  2. Old Testament Survey
  3. New Testament Survey
  4. Preaching Biblical Messages and Pastoral Ministry
  5. Bible Doctrine Survey
  6. Personal Spiritual Life
  7. Church Ministry / Administration / Education
  8. Teaching Principles and Methods
  9. Church History Survey
  10. Missions / Evangelism / Discipleship

Greater Interest and Church Growth

"I am so blessed by the training received during the courses; whenever I minister the Word, there is a greater interest in the congregation and there are new people joining the church. The course on Church history has been a very helpful subject. We have studied about Roman Catholics which motivated me to teach in my village. As a result of this, some Roman Catholic people came to know truth and two families have started to attend the Church services."

Training Nationals Vs. Traditional Missions

At Shepherding the Nations, we believe that God has already called leaders within every nation to shepherd His people. By equipping pastors and ministry leaders where they live, your support goes farther—providing biblical teaching at a fraction of the cost of sending and supporting long-term Western missionaries. This model not only maximizes every dollar entrusted to us but also strengthens local churches through leaders who already know the language, culture, and communities they serve.

Teaching Nationals (STN) Traditional Missions
Teach many national pastors and leaders Send one Western missionary
Already fluent in local language Years spent learning language
Already understands the culture Must adapt to unfamiliar culture
Lives and serves locally Requires visas and ongoing travel
No relocation required Significant housing and relocation costs
Teaching investment directly equips ministry Ongoing fundraising for family support
Graduates multiply their ministry throughout their region Limited to one location
Indigenous graduates continue serving for a lifetime Ministry may end when missionary returns home
Lower costs with multiplying long-term impact High long-term support costs
