Latin America June 26

This year of 2026 has been very exciting so far. In February, we started a new training institute with 24 students in Tijuana. In February and March, we had graduations in Tapachula, Mexico and Tegucigalpa, Honduras. By God’s grace, in Latin America so far, 160 students have graduated from our 2 ½ year training program. At the end of November, we will have graduations for 3 institutes in Panama and 1 institute in El Salvador. Many of our graduates have already committed to planting churches in unreached areas. So far, they have planted 11 churches and have started 16 additional home Bible studies with hope that they will each grow to be local churches. 

As we continue through 2026, we currently have 10 training institutes located in Bolivia, Honduras, Mexico, El Salvador, and Panama, with a total of 263 students. We are currently talking with a pastor in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to consider starting a new institute, our first in Portuguese.

In addition, we had a meeting with Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF) to explore the possible opportunity of working together to send boxes of non-perishable food items to Bolivia. They want a minimum of 12 to 15 churches participating, which should not be a problem. Distributing this food to people in need could be an open door for these churches to share the gospel with them. The hope is to continue teaching the word and hopefully planting new churches that will continue the work of the gospel. 

Please pray for:

  • The students in each institute grow strong in the Lord and bear much fruit as they apply what they learn. 
  • The churches being planted to effectively make mature disciples in their communities. And that more students will plant healthy churches in the future. 
  • Approval to work with CHF, initially in Bolivia, and then hopefully take the ministry to other countries in the future. 
  • More people to give faithfully to STN Latin America so we can expand into more areas and plant more churches.

Finally, please mark your calendars for Saturday, September 26, 2026, to join us at our annual STN Benefit Banquet to be held at The Bridge Bible Fellowship in Reseda. We plan to have key STN leaders from SE Asia and Latin America meet during the week for strategic planning. Then, during the weekend they will participate in the Banquet and share in Church Services at The Bridge. Please be sure to attend and invite others not currently connected to STN to learn about the ministry and how we can work together in fulfilling the Great Commission.
