Women’s Luncheon Fundraiser – Save the Date!

On Saturday, October 13th, 2018, the auxiliary board of Shepherding The Nations (along with a committee) will be hosting a fabulous Shepherding The Nations Fundraising Luncheon.

We’re striving to bring awareness to many more people about the work and mission of STN – to glorify God by training and resourcing indigenous pastors to plant healthy churches in unreached areas around the globe. Please plan on attending and inviting others – and being a part of this exciting ministry that is helping to reach the world for Christ.

Making a Difference a Little at a Time

One of the biggest life lessons that I’ve learned from my ten years of participation with Shepherding the Nations is how one person can make a difference. God has been faithful over the years to take the little that I have to offer and make it count for eternity. I am so thankful for those of you who have been faithfully giving – it has really made a difference! God has used the resources you have given to further His kingdom. Many have been trained, many have heard the gospel and many have been saved. I can’t personally go to India every year (though I would love to!) but here are some things I can do:

Amazon Smile

I don’t know about you, but I love the convenience of shopping at Amazon for all kinds of stuff. When I use smile.amazon.com, a small percentage of everything I buy goes to STN. It doesn’t cost me anything additional, and every little bit helps. If you haven’t signed up for this yet, it’s so easy. Just go to https://smile.amazon.com, sign into your account and then select Shepherding the Nations as your charity. Then, everytime you shop, go to smile.amazon.com and a donation will automatically go to STN. (More about the program here.)

Sponsorship of Materials

Part of our family Christmas giving this year was to give donations for STN books and Bibles in honor of our family members. It was such a blessing to give a gift that was meaningful, sacrificial, and would bear fruit that would last for eternity! When we accept a pastor or church planter into our training program, they will receive a set of learning curriculum including 10 books in the BTCP series. (Biblical Training Centre for Pastors) They also receive a study Bible, and a concordance. These materials are available in the local languages of the pastors that we train in Latin America and India. The cost of one set of materials is about $100. These materials are so appreciated, used and treasured by our trainees!

Update: Taste of Summer Ladies Luncheon

Thank you so much to all of you who attended our latest fundraising event! Almost a hundred women gathered at The Bridge Bible Fellowship to enjoy a delicious gourmet salad bar lunch, with homemade breads and muffins and cheesecake for dessert!

Tammy Werth spoke about how the Lord has worked in her life to bring her to participate on our STN board and also in short term mission trips to India. (Read about her upcoming trip here.) We enjoyed a video update from Xiomara Bueno about the ministry of STN in Bolivia and also a video greeting from the Kumar’s in India.

Over $3000 was raised for the ministry of Shepherding the Nations through the generous attendees of this luncheon. In addition, several people committed to sponsoring Ryder Kumar in India which helped to bring up his support level by almost $200 per month. In addition $440 was given towards purchasing 44 books for the pastors in India and Bolivia.

Hostesses will have the opportunity to decorate a table for 8 ladies with dishes and centerpiece. Your decoration and theme can be anything your creative mind can think of and as elaborate or simple as you choose. Can you donate a gift basket or gift cards for our raffle?

We will have a basket raffle as part of our fundraising efforts, so we need donations of a completed basket or donation of basket items.

Some ideas to get you started: 

  • “Foodie” basket with spices & cooking utensils
  • Journal with a pen and devotional book
  • Tea Party basket for girls with miniature tea set and goodies
  • Candles and/or candle holders
  • Photo frames or scrapbooking supplies
  • Vintage decor
  • Linens, kitchen towels or accessories

We are also looking for unused gift cards to be included in raffle baskets.

PizzaRev Update

Pizza-rev-updateThank you for helping us impact the world for Christ.

Our PizzaRev fundraiser brought in $174.26 and everyone had lots of fun together while there. The fundraiser fell on the same night as our STN board meeting. So Pastor Paul went to PizzaRev and picked up 8 pizzas for our meeting. He said PizzaRev was filled with STN supporters when he arrived. What a blessing to have had such a good turnout. We are grateful for your prayers and generous support.

Look for the next fun dinner night fundraiser around April.

STN’s youngest donor

We were thrilled to hear this story about our youngest donor:

After hearing about STN, this four year old did chores for four weeks to support a pastor in India! Her mom kept the chore charts and presented this gift on Christmas! What a beautiful birthday gift for Jesus! Thank you for your support – your love-gift will be used to further God’s kingdom in India and will be treasures laid up in heaven for you!

 

STN Fundraising Event Highlights

We would like to thank everyone for all their support for the STN concert with Enfield.

We had a wonderful evening of praise and worship, Christmas shopping at the silent auction and updates on the ministry.  Pastor Paul also gave us updates on Ryder and Flory’s relocation to India, our opening up STN in South America and plans for the future.  God is blessing our ministry and it’s exciting to be part of sharing His truth wherever we can.

God also blessed our event by raising funds for STN as well as providing more monthly support for Ryder and Flory (although more is still needed).  Also many more new people (future supporters) were exposed to the Shepherding the Nations ministry.

Chick-Fil-A Fundraiser on Oct 27th.

At the concert we distributed flyers for a Chick-Fil-A fundraising dinner on October 27th. All purchases at the event contributed to STN.  The Chick-Fil-A dinner proved to be a success as many STN supporters and members of The Bridge Bible Fellowship came out to support our event.  Stay tuned for more special dinner events.

 

Enfield in Concert – Fall Fundraiser 2015

Enfield is best known for their leading worship at the Resolved conferences; you won’t want to miss this special time of praise and worshiping the Lord with the music by Enfield.  

Silent Auction

In addition to the great music there will be many wonderful items made in India available at our silent auction.  You want to be sure to see these beautiful Indian pieces; including embroidered clothing, jewelry, scarfs and more.

The silent auction starts at 5:30 pm and the concert starts at 7:00 pm (open seating).

Tickets can be purchased starting September 1st for $10 and will increase October 1st to $12.50 and $15 at the door (only if seats are available).

Women’s Summer Saturday Seminar / August 8, 2015

Fundraisers are a wonderful way to create awareness and generate extra funds for ministries. This particular fundraiser geared for women and thought of by our own Susan Leinen was no exception.  I was asked to gather some helpers and run with the idea. The Lord brought together an amazing team. What great ideas to offer breakfast, lunch, 4 inspiring seminars, and some needed time for chatting.  We ladies love that kind of thing! Susan started the day by giving an overview of the ministry of STN. As well, Flory Kumar shared what God is doing in she and Ryder’s lives as they will now be going back to India in September to live full time. Ryder will serve as the International Director of STN.

Over $4,000 raised in one day!

Basically all the food, deco, centerpieces, and misc. materials were donated by the committee and others. All 4 presenters donated their time so that practically all the monies collected from the cost of the day as well as raffle tickets could go towards the ministry of Shepherding the Nations! With 60 women registered to come to the event plus additional donations, STN collected $4,432.00! We are praising God for His continuous provision towards seeing His word go forth, His gospel spread, and precious pastors in India supported and equipped to teach God’s word to their own people.

Many, many thanks to my incredible planning team: Millie Afshin, Barbara Barnhill, Sheryl Hamlin, Missy Hunt, Pattie Ladell, Sonja Meier, and Tammy Werth.

And we are so thankful and grateful to our 4 seminar presenters: Michele Amoroso, Briana Steadman, Valerie Hasse, and Peggy Johnston.

It was certainly a wonderful day – one I think we will do again!
